How long have you hsed?
Technically we started in the fall of 2003, but because of some problems, we didn't really do any bookwork until about December of 2003. This is with my DS, but I homeschooled DD back in 1999 until about 2002.

How many children do you homeschool?
One

What state do you live in?
Alabama

Why do you homeschool?
DS has a mood disorder...I felt that if he went to public school all day, he would be in trouble a lot and would have trouble learning. He is ahead in some areas, and average in some areas, and behind in some areas. I can work with him and I can school him when it is convenient for us. Plus, it worked out for me with my DD, so I figured I could do it again.

What curriculum do you use?
We are using Calvert this year, but we're not totally satisfied with it, so I'm checking into other options for next year. I had to modify the Calvert a lot.

What is your homeschooling style? Why?
I guess we don't have one particular style. We mix and match to whatever suits us.

Do you follow a schedule? Would you share it?
We don't really follow a schedule except that we school when DS is in a good mood and then he will be much more receptive.

Have your children ever attended public school or will they in the future?
My DD attended public school from K - 6th when I was working full-time for the most part. DS has never attended public school, however, he did attend a 3 hour private preschool that was great. I hope he never has to attend public school. There is only one here, and I'm not really impressed.

Do you belong to a support group? Why or why not?
No, but I have several friends who homeschool. Most of us are spread out, so we email and such.
