How long have you hsed? Well, DS is almost 6 so about 6 years. By legal definitions, he would have started school last fall so 1 year that way.

How many children do you homeschool? we've only got the one DS (but we try to get in good stuff with any kids we meet and we do some stuff with a co-op so we have input into lots of other kids)

What state do you live in? CT - the land of the free homeschooler

Why do you homeschool? Oy, this could be long. I had a great time in school, DH didn't. I learn best with books and step by step worksheet stuff. He doesn't. I can tolerate repetition. He can't. DS takes after him - and DS is also more outspoken about it than DH ever was (he'd just doodle and daydream - DS actively resists being forced to do stuff he already knows and wants to move on from). DS is a hands-on, all energy all the time, boy - sit still and be quiet and do repetitive worksheets would kill someone (him, me, the teacher, maybe all 3). We also have religious and political issues with public schools as well.

What curriculum do you use? None

What is your homeschooling style? Why? Unschooling - fits DS and DH (since DH is the at home parent)

Do you follow a schedule? Would you share it? No - except insofar as life itself has schedules (laundry needs doing, I go to work, dogs need to be fed, etc)

Have your children ever attended public school or will they in the future? Not yet. In the future, can't say yet - he might want to do high school at some point - but I'mguessing not likely.

Do you belong to a support group? Why or why not? Yes - we found a very inclusive group that has all sorts politically, religiously, homeschooling style-wise. Good way to get "group rates" for things and a way to bounce ideas of people IRL. Makes a "peer group" available for DS and for us - folks who understand what we mean (mostly) when we say we unschool. Also, it adds clout when the legislature tries to do something annoying, to have a whole group of people working together. CT's homeschoolers have consistently been able to show the legislature that homeschooling works and doesn't NEED regulations.
